Make unsightly facial and leg veins a thing of the past with the Cutera Excel laser system. The system uses advanced technology, a unique design and a longer wavelength to safely and effectively treat both tiny, superficial face veins and deeper blue leg veins on men and women of all skin tones.
What types of veins and vascular lesions can be treated?
The Cutera Excel can remove veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and large blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates.
Blood blisters also respond very well to Cutera vein therapy, usually with just one treatment. Patients with port wine stains and other vascular lesions have been overwhelmed by the success of their Cutera vascular treatments. A careful evaluation with one of our registered nurses will help you determine which areas can be treated and the best course of treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient. However, the number of necessary treatments can vary depending on the number, color and size of the vessels involved in the procedure.
Most patients see significant improvement in treated veins within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months. Since individual results vary, consult with one of our registered nurses about your specific condition.
How does it work?
The Cutera Excel delivers pulses of light energy that cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel, which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface where it should be.
What happens after treatment?
Following your treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a short period of time.
Most patients resume normal activities immediately after treatment. However, it is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities, such as exercise, for the first 24 hours after treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas, and as always, it is a good idea to limit sun exposure
