Active Ingredient

The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, the cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. This results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin and an improved profile.

During the procedure

During each treatment, a registered nurse will prescribe the number of vials needed to achieve your desired results then administer several small injections under the chin. You may need to receive up to 6 treatments in total, spaced at least 1 month apart.

Research
