What should I expect?
JUVÉDERM XC is a simple, non-surgical wrinkle treatment, so there is minimal recovery and downtime, and the results are instant. You can make an appointment to receive treatment on the way home from work or even while the kids are in school. Here’s what to expect when you visit Pure Luxe for treatment:
Before Your Visit
We recommend that you avoid any medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, for at least a week prior to receiving treatment. This will reduce the chance of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
When You Arrive
If this is your first visit, be prepared to provide information regarding your medical history. Then, one of our registered nurses will speak with you about JUVÉDERM XC injectable gel and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment.
Determining Your Needs
If your RN determines that JUVÉDERM XC is right for you, she will examine the soft tissue areas of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds and decide what level of treatment you need. Pre-treatment photographs will be taken so you can see the visual difference after the procedure.
Receiving Treatment
Anesthetic is not needed prior to treatment because JUVÉDERM XC is specially formulated with lidocaine to improve comfort level. Your RN may elect to use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before the procedure. The injection itself takes about 15 minutes, and its results are instant.
Post-Treatment
You should avoid strenuous exercise, consumption of alcoholic beverages and extended exposure to sun or heat for at least 24 hours after treatment. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can briefly apply an ice pack to the affected area. Report any redness or visible swelling that lasts for more than a few days to your Pure Luxe medical professional.
Seeing Results
You will see an immediate improvement in treated areas, and results will last for up to one year. However, it is important to note that results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental touch-up treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal correction of wrinkles and folds.
